Question
Hi,

There is a part of the business I was wondering about. I have noticed that different websites specialized in selling gonzo scenes where selling the same scenes, which made me wonder : is there out there companies whose job is to gather scenes from production companies and put them to sale for websites selling non orignial content ?

If so, could you explain me how this part of the business works ? Also, I would be interested in knowing who these "gathering companies" are.

Thanks
Erik

Answer
There are thousands of sites that, for a variety of reasons, do not create their own exclusive content. These are generally owned by individuals who do not posses the recourses to do their own production work and thus purchase their material from  "content brokers".

Basically it work like this. There are small Production Companies, that have no other means of distribution, who supply material to these "content brokers". The brokers in turn sell that material to as many low-budget websites as they can, thus saturating the market with "cookie cutter" low quality porn. In all reality it is a losing proposition for everyone...except the broker.

In order to operate a successful Adult Web Site you MUST offer fresh exclusive material on a regular basis. Simply presenting the same low budget crap offered by thousands of other sites is NOT what Porn consumers want to see. As a result, sites that offer brokered content are usually out of business within a year and never turn any kind of real profit....while the brokers go merrily on selling to others they fool into thinking it's a good idea.

Content Brokers are just one of the many "get rich quick" falsehoods of the Adult Web Industry...
