Hi Dargo,
Thank you for your time. We are a family of me, my husband, sisters and nieces who have made some videos (HDV 1080i) format and they are pretty good. It was done for fun but then after googling the adult industry we thought "why not give it a try" and look at selling them exclusively. the problem: HOW? WHO? and what is the deal we should expect. We are into documentary film making, so our scripts and concepts are all original and natural, unlike most porn stuff that is so artificial and enhanced. How do we go about the BUSINESS of porn?

Hello,

This is a very hard question to answer completely,however, I will give you a direction to go in.

First, you are going to need some money to have your video manufactured and ready to sell in "retail format" i.e. Disc, Case, Shrink Wrap.

You can start out with 100, or, if you have the funds (around $1200) you can get 1000 ready to sell units.

Because you are new, you are going to have a hard time getting anyone in the distribution channel to take your product.  So you will have to initially create a website, and sell your DVD online.

You will need to spend some additional money in Advertising or Marketing.  Several thousand dollars just to get your website and product known.

However, there is a good market in the US for "Documentary" or "Educational" type DVD's.  So you may have an advantage if your product is well produced, edited, and authored, into a professional looking video disc.
