About christina Cicchelli Expertise if you are seeking information on how to break into the adult industry, how to use pornography to enhance your sex life, how to find pornography that turns you on, and also how to make a living as an adult performer - then I'm the lady to speak to!
Getting into the adult industry can be easy, but to survive in the industry and find the best direction for yourself in this field is essential. As a former porn actress, I understand the pitfalls and successes that the porn industry has to offer. Pornography is a business, one that is patronized by a majority of us - whether it's by downloading a piece of an adult movie or buying a book by Jenna Jameson. You, too, can become a part of this industry. But, avoiding the mistakes and scams will make it easier for you. Also, knowing the pay rate and how to successfully chart your career will help you stay focused while having fun on set.
For those not interested in getting into porn, you might want to consider how adult films can help your sex life. Maybe you're searching for the right type of smut to satisfy you and/or your lover for a night, or maybe you want to make a private movie of your own. Contact me for help and guidance.
PLEASE DON'T ASK ME ABOUT LEGALITIES, LICENSES, PERMITS, OR ABOUT WHAT YOU LEGALLY NEED TO START YOUR OWN PORN BUSINESS -- i will prove unhelpful. Sorry.

Question Hi Christina,
Do you have any advice or suggestions for someone wanting to get involved in the wardrobe/costume aspect of the porn business? I have a solid foundation working in theater and film but would like to explore a transition into porn. What is the best approach for this?
What types of productions use designers/costumers? Any additional information you could offer about your experiences with wardrobe and what it is like to work behind the scenes in the porn industry would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Answer Hey Paul,
I could only imagine that large production companies, such as Vivid and Playboy, may have a costume designer on set to help with wardrobe. For Afrodite Superstar, it was such a large production that we had a stylist on hand to help piece together outfits. The stylist mostly collaborated with the filmmaker about outfits that would work best with each scene. She was given a budget, bought the clothes, and would be on hand for any last-minute alterations or fixes. Larger productions that required more costumes would possibly have a designer on hand since said costumes have to be specially made (For example, the movie "Space Nuts" had astronaut suits and intricate alien costumes).
The best approach is to look at all of the major porn movies that have come out in the past 3-5 years. These would be full featured films that require a large production crew and seem highly financed in comparison to other movies. Check the credits and see if you can find a costume designer or someone who worked in the wardrobe department, then write their name down and google them. Track down their contact information and send out a kind word about their work. Ask how they broke into the industry. Some may respond; others may not. But, keep trying until you've made connections in the industry.
If you can, create a website with your contact information, your objective, your specialties, a copy of your resume, and samples of your work. You can also send the url of your website to other designers so they can look at your work and possibly provide some advice. Create business cards with your contact information and look up any adult expos or special events in your area. Visit these events and start talking to people in the industry. As you can see, the best way to break into the industry is to network. So, make yourself a familiar face to those who may need you in the future.
