About christina Cicchelli
Expertise
if you are seeking information on how to break into the adult industry, how to use pornography to enhance your sex life, how to find pornography that turns you on, and also how to make a living as an adult performer - then I'm the lady to speak to! Getting into the adult industry can be easy, but to survive in the industry and find the best direction for yourself in this field is essential. As a former porn actress, I understand the pitfalls and successes that the porn industry has to offer. Pornography is a business, one that is patronized by a majority of us - whether it's by downloading a piece of an adult movie or buying a book by Jenna Jameson. You, too, can become a part of this industry. But, avoiding the mistakes and scams will make it easier for you. Also, knowing the pay rate and how to successfully chart your career will help you stay focused while having fun on set. For those not interested in getting into porn, you might want to consider how adult films can help your sex life. Maybe you're searching for the right type of smut to satisfy you and/or your lover for a night, or maybe you want to make a private movie of your own. Contact me for help and guidance. PLEASE DON'T ASK ME ABOUT LEGALITIES, LICENSES, PERMITS, OR ABOUT WHAT YOU LEGALLY NEED TO START YOUR OWN PORN BUSINESS -- i will prove unhelpful. Sorry.

Answer
Hey William,

Your talent will definitely come in handy in the adult industry. However, every production company is different, and so you will need to remain open-minded and versatile.

Most cameramen in the industry are videographers, since use of storyboards and larger production crews are normally reserved for larger production companies, such as Vivid or Adam & Eve. Although you have creative experience, if you have yet to work in the industry then you may normally have to do camera work for smaller scale productions, which require very little prep. Some of these movies may be produced under a subdivision of the reputable companies i mentioned earlier, so the more your shoot, the likelier you are to work your way up the food chain and onto bigger projects

If you haven't already, I would watch different types of porn and get a feel for how each videographer has captured the scene. Also, take a look at other videographers' websites. See how they sell themselves. Here's a link to videographer Nick Minos: http://www.nickminos.com/NickMinos-Page1.html.

What I would suggest is to start building a website to promote your talents as an adult videographer. This would include a list of equipment you use, rates, contact information, and (if possible) a sample of your work. When I say sample, I mean erotic content. You could hire models to perform simulated sex acts or penetration scenes. However, if you choose to go this route, then make sure to have the proper release forms for your models - you can find out more about this here http://www.model-release-form.com/.

Also visit websites like xbiz.com. Adult industry resource sites always have excellent listings for those seeking videographers, business articles and more. it may also give you an idea as to how the porn industry works.

There aren't too many resources on the web that give you guidance. Really, the best way I can think of you breaking into this business is to build up your reputation as an adult videographer. That means you should befriend other people in the business. Ask them to take you to different porn shoots to give you some experience. Leave your business card with filmmakers in case they need another videographer. Attend trade shows, expos, and parties. Learn as many important names and numbers as possible. Then, start contacting people. Get your name out there. If this doesn't help, then you can always start your own small porn website, one that highlights your creative experience as a videographer.

Hope this helps!

Good luck,

CC
