Question
Hi Charles, I have a question about getting in to the business, not as talent but as a shooter. I’ve been toying with the idea of starting my own company but between lack of experience and start-up capital I’ve put the idea on hold. What I would like to do is shoot for a production house, see how things are really run and go from there; hopefully with a paycheck or two in the process. I have a BA in photography and I’m quite capable of telling the difference between the focus being on the talent and not the tree behind them (sadly an actual observed occurrence) unlike some photographers I’ve seen online.  Where is a good starting place for someone who’s interested in shooting and not the stud on stage?

I see online all the time times of courses or mini camps for budding photographers....I guess you can check out onemodelplace.com and get a paid membership there....since you cant use some of the features if you dont. maybe even modelmayhem as well.....those are the only real two spots I know of really anymore.
