Question
A friend and I are trying to start a unique adult DVD rental business. The DVD will only be good for a certain time frame; afterwards the movie will no longer be playable (ex. Flexplay). My question is, how can we go about getting permission if any and from whom do we need permission from? Would we run into any problems as far as copyright laws?

Joe,

You would need to strike a licensing deal with the publishers of the various titles, otherwise you would be infringing the copyright of the publishers.

Most publishers have structured deals with distributors, so you may need to work with those distributors to offer your alternative DVD model.
