Question
What kind of licenses or laws do I need or need to be concerned about if the videos I produce are fake? i.e. actors in costumes where no actual sex between the actors is taking place. Also, do I need to look into local laws if the videos are going to be sold strictly on a website? Thank you.
In certain jurisdictions, including California, film permits are required even if you are not producing adult content.
Local laws do not typically address the sales of videos on a website, however depending upon the content of your video, federal record keeping and labeling regulations may apply (18 USC 2257). You should also have comprehensive website terms and conditions covering the content of your website as well your videos.
