Question
Hello

My girlfriend and I are interested in setting up a clips4sale.com store. My question for you is since I'm filming only 1 model for several scenes, do I need her to sign a 2257 and Model Release form for every shot? Or is 1 good enough?

Also is it ok to keep the 2257 records in a PO Box?

We are located in Las Vegas, NV

Thanks

Answer
JD,

The answer depends upon what is contained in your model release form.  You should also note that if the underlying acts in your content are illegal, then the model release is void ab initio (or invalid from the outset).

Assuming you do have a valid model release, and the content has been otherwise produced legally, then you cannot keep the 2257 records in a PO box; they must be kept in a physical office that can be subject to inspection by federal agents.  You can, however, use a third party to maintain those records for you (and to use that third party's location on your compliance statement in your video).  You can check out http://www.2257Sentry.com (my service) as an example.
