Adult Film/UK vistor work in US Adult industry

Question
Hi Dan,
My name is Claire and i would be interested in knowing whether it would be possible to work in the American Adult industry on a visitors passport to the US.
I'm 22 and planning a 8 week visit to California during April-May 2012 staying with a friend who has emigrated to to the US with her family.
However, officially, for me, this is just a vacation. I haven't actually done much more than nude modeling here in the UK but i know it's the direction i wish to move into.
As i will be over there for such a long time and i know that California has a thriving adult industry i thought i would take the oportunity to explore my options.
Do you think it would be possible? or do you think that fact that i am only a UK vistor cause problems?.
And would there be any point in speaking to people at the various companies around the valley.
Thanks in anticipation
Claire

Answer
Hi Claire,

U.S. law requires any producers of sexually explicit conduct to obtain a United States-issued government picture identification for any production occurring in the United States.  So unfortunately without one, you would not be able to find work with any reputable production company in California.

But there's always value in networking and speaking with members of the industry while you're here.  You may want to register on websites like xbiz.net and start connecting with people prior to your visit.   Good luck!
