HI Jim,
I've interned at Casting Offices and Talent Agencies in the mainstream entertainment world here in Los Angeles, but would love the experience of trying an internship in the Adult Film/Print
industry.  I saw your comprised list of Production companies worth submitting to.

Can you provide your top 10 or so Los Angeles Adult Talent Agencies so I can investigate these further for intern or job opportunities.

Also, do indepedent Casting Directors exist in the adult world? or is casting for projects accomplished by  Production companys handling casting themselves and working directly with the Talent Agencies without a CD middle-man?

Hi Jer,

Unfortunately no, I can not provide you with a top-10 list of Casting Offices and Talent Agencies in the LA area. The reason for this is because I only do business with 9 different Agencies and not all of those are in LA. However, here is a list of the ones I actually can recommend from various areas.

First, you need to understand that the Adult Film Industry is absolutely NOTHING like mainstream film production. So be ready for a major shift in the way you are used to thinking. One major difference is that the acting skill of a performer is now only a footnote on her resume. Porn is not about acting…it’s about sex.

Also, unlike mainstream film, Adult Producers are much more “hands on” than what you would be used to. Adult Producers are often involved in every phase of their production, from hand picking their talent, all the way through final editing.  Some of your very large production companies (Vivid for example) may use Casting Directors but as a general rule most producers prefer to handle casting themselves.

One thing you may want to consider is Talent Scouting. ALL Agencies are constantly looking for new talent and fresh faces However, you would need to contact an Agency to get more information on that.
