Adult Film/Filming in Florida

QuestionHi Jim,
I saw where you said that California is the only place to legally produce adult films. However, I have seen films that are ostensibly produced in Florida. Bangbros, I believe.
How can they get away with this, or are they just taking their chances?
AnswerHi Charles,
Yes, I have mentioned many times that California is the ONLY state that makes legal provisions for the production of Adult Films. Filming in other states (including Florida) can lead to several charges related to prostitution and pandering.
It simply is not legal to produce Adult Material anywhere in the United States except California. The companies who do are violating various State Laws and are simply taking their chances…. and hoping not to be caught.
One such Florida company who got caught, was Ray Guhn Productions, owned by Raymond McCowen and Kevin Stevens. Ray had been operating and filming adult material in Escambia County, Florida for more than 5 years before local police arrested him and his associates on charges of promoting prostitution, racketeering, pandering, and even an obscenity charge.
The Ray Guhn case, has actually caused a slowdown of porn production in that state, due to the media attention, and fear by other producers of being caught in a similar police sting.
