Adult Film/Production questions

QuestionLooking over your past answer to some questions about shooting anything outside of California you made it clear that exchanging any money for sex on film or otherwise can get you into a lot more trouble than I want. my question then is if I were to want to start up a website with adult content and just stay away from anything hardcore would this be entirely legal or do I still need permits in my state which is Oregon by the way. also what is your opinion on the chances of a simple soft core site compared to that of one offering harder content? Thanks!
AnswerHi Sean,
Thanks for reading over my past answers. That keeps me from having to repeat a lot of information. Besides, it’s good to know some one actually reads the stuff!
To my knowledge Oregon does not offer any type of permits that allow the production of Adult material. Therefore no, you can’t apply for one.
Now that being said, I fell pretty sure you would be in the clear if you stick with “softcore” material. “softcore” meaning absolutely NO SEX AT ALL, just solo models in still photos and masturbation videos. Unfortunately, this seriously limits your options, but “softcore" is still a very viable internet market.
I think it would be wise if you talked with an attorney in your area just to be on the safe side. Other than what has already been said, my knowledge of Oregon’s legal views on Adult Material is rather limited.
Whatever you do, please keep in mind you would still need to comply with those pesky Federal Laws mentioned in many of my other answers.
