Adult Film/location and involvment

QuestionI, like just about every guy on here, would like to get started in the adult film industry. That being said, i live in colorado near Denver. I am 18 and open to nearly all genres of porn with the exception of transgender. I have some abilities i think are unique ( maybe not unique but at least rare) that i can perform in the bedroom and i am hoping under the lights and cameras too.
what would be the best way for me to go about becoming involved in the industry from where i am now? would i need to travel elsewhere?
AnswerHi Taylor,
I would suggest you contact one of the reputable Adult Talent Agencies and talk to some one there about what you want to do. You may want to start with these:
www.lhtalent.com
www.number1models.com
Keep in mind that is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT for men to get started as performers in the straight side of this business. Your odds of getting signed by an agent are pretty slim, and even if you do find one willing to work with you, it will in no way guarantee that you will ever actually be offered any work by a producer.
While it is true that breaking into the business is much easier in the gay market, I wouldn’t suggest it if you ever have any plans at breaking into straight porn. Contrary to popular belief, doing “gay for pay” will actually hinder your opportunities at becoming a straight performer.
Yes, odds are you will have to do some traveling but you would not necessarily need to permanently relocate. Most adult films are produced in California or Florida (despite being illegal in Florida) so if you do find work you will have the need to travel.
Good luck,
