I have an idea for a movie that i want to produce and assuming i get the money i want to know if its necessary to be a known quantity already in the industry to be able to hire known talent, like a sandra romain.  
I also am pretty much unable to open an office for this and wanted your opinion if using your own residence is possible for shooting scenes and if having a home office and place to shoot scenes is accepted practice in the industry or if it would scare off potential talent.  I am interested in this aspect because i'm also intrested in how common the audition process for women is in the industry.  
Would it be out of place for me to ask for her to do an audition with or without a camera present and not simply seem like i'm trying to get free sex?   
I know this is a big question but even a partial answer would be a big help.

Depends on what part of the country you live in. If you live in LA you can call World Modeling and pose those questions to them. For my part if I was casting an unknown model I would want a screener/demo tape to be brought in just to see her work, otherwise any known actress doesn’t need it since she has credits to her name.
