We have been looking for openminded friends for some time with limited luck.  We like to get to know people first.  We tell them we are looking for friends.  However, we are not looking to be best friends or anything like that.

In the past, we have always thought meeting couples one at a time was the best way.  We should be able to get to know someone in a no-pressure environment.  However, we are now realizing that this takes up more time than we have.

We are also realizing that most people online have no real intention to meet people.  It seems like chatting online about all of this is exciting to them.

This is a tough question.  But we would like your opinion.
How can we wade through the people just looking for one-night stands and the ones who are all talk to find someone real?

Have you two tried attending events rather than online chatting? Have you reviewed any of my previous answers? I refer to a preferred website of ours quite often and they host events called Meet n Greets. These are usually low - no pressure weekend type environments full of people who are very serious about meeting people or renewing acquaintances.
