Question
You can buy CDs at  store for $15.95 each. you can buy them online for $13.99 plus $6 for shipping.  Write a system of equations and find a number of CDs that you can buy for the same amount at the two stores

Answer
y = 15.95x
y = 13.99x + 6

15.95x = 13.99x + 6
1.96x = 6
x = 6/1.96 = 600/196 = 150/49 or about 3

y = 15.95(150/49)
y = $48.83

You can buy about 3 CDs that will turn out to be the same price.

----------------

However in real life you would have to calculate how much money you spend on the gas to get to the store, plus the 15.95x
