1)8b^2 - 18c^2
= 2(4b^2 - 9c^2)
= 2{(2b)^2 - (3c)^2}
using x^2 - y^2 = (x + y)(x - y)
= 2(2b - 3c)(2b + 3c)

2)4x^2 - 7x + 3
= 4x^2 - 4x - 3x + 3
= 4x(x - 1) - 3(x - 1)
= (x - 1)(4x - 3)

3)x^2 + 8x + 16
= x^2 + 4x + 4x + 16
= x(x + 4) + 4(x + 4)
= (x + 4)(x + 4)
= (x + 4)^2
