Question
find f(-x) when f(x) is 2x^2-x+3

Answer
Hi Jackie,
For f(x) = ax^n
f'(x) = nax^(n-1)
So,
f(x) = 2x^2 - x + 3
f(x) = 2x^2 - 1x^1 + 3x^0
and
f'(x) = 2.2x^(2-1) - 1.1x^(1-1) + 0.3x^(0-1)
     = 2.2x^1 - 1.1x^0 + 0.3x^-1
     = 4x - 1
we therefore have,
f(-x) = 4(-x) - 1
     = -4x - 1
