Question
is (50/tan)a quantity

are (50/tan),,(1/tan 50),,(cot 50),,((tan^-1)50)   one and the same thing

Answer
i don't know what you mean by quantity.

50/tan(A) = 50cot(A)

1/tan(50) = cot(50)

tan^-1(50) isn't like saying x^-1 = 1/x

tan^-1(50) is like saying tan(A) = 50, and to find A you would inverse tan to both sides to get A = tan^-1(50)

more info found at

just like if you wanted to know the angle of A for tan(A) = sqrt(3)/3, you would inverse tan(A) to both sides like this A = tan^-1(sqrt(3)/3) and you would get A = 30
