Question
an object is moving in a circular path and covers a distance of 42250km in 24 hours. find its linear velocity ?

Answer
Hi,
speed = distance/time
     = 42250km / 24 hours
     = 1760.42 km/hr
OR
42250 x 1000m / 24 x 60 x 60 sec
= 42250000/86400
= 489m/s

Note that i calculated speed and not velocity. Try not to use both terms loosely. Velocity is a vector and so, apart from its magnitude (which is equal to the speed), needs to be defined with a direction.
