if you really did mean 2x^2 - 11z + 4 = 0, then i have no idea.

but if you meant

2x^2 - 11x + 4 = 0

x = (-b ± sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/(2a)

x = (-(-11) ± sqrt((-11)^2 - 4(2)(4)))/(2(2))
x = (11 ± sqrt(121 - 32))/4
x = (11 ± sqrt(89))/4
x = (11/4) ± (1/4)sqrt(89)
