Question
Upon achieving a bachelors of science in Mathematics, what are typical jobs one can get using this degree? What is the pay like? What about the job and pay for a masters degree? Ph.D?

Answer
Hi Kyle,

I can only speak from my own experience.  I became a math teacher straight out of college in 1972 (that shows how old I am!).  I won't regale you with what the pay was then, but when I was getting ready to retire in 2005, our school in NJ paid starting teachers
$39,000 and if they stayed 20 years, they could easily triple that.

With a masters degree, you could make upwards of $80,000 in New Jersey by the end of 25-30 years.  Now that I live in Florida, I see the pay is nowhere near that:  About 32,000 to start, but only getting up to about 50,000 after 25-30 years.

Don't know anything about private industry, or about Ph.D., you'd have to ask some other expert.
