Hi, Daryl,

Do you really want me to 'help work out ..." or do you just want it done for you?  If you want help, send me the work you already tried to do and I'll try to help and find where yuo are going wrong.

If you just dump the question on me, I will assume you just don't know how to get started, so that's all I will do.

Use substitution:

Y=11x+3
Y=4x^2

11x + 3 = 4x^2

Now solve it like any other quadratic equation. (Hint: it can be factored.)

You will get two values of x.  Take each one and substitute it back into either equation.

I'll leave that to you.  If you get messed up, send me the work.

Expertise

I can answer questions in basic to advanced algebra (theory of equations, complex numbers), precalculus (functions, graphs, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions and identities), basic probability, and finite mathematics, including mathematical induction. I can also try (but not guarantee) to answer questions on Abstract Algebra -- groups, rings, etc. and Analysis -- sequences, limits, continuity. I won't understand specialized engineering or business jargon.

Experience

I taught at a two-year college for 25 years, including all subjects from algebra to third-semester calculus.
