Question
The ratio of hours in a day to days in an hour is A) 1:24  B) 24:1  C) 48:1  D) 576:1   I feel the answer is D) but can't show the work

Answer
Hi Ralph,

Okay, let's see, there are 24 hours in a day, and an hour is 1/24 of a day, so the ratio would be :

            24 / (1/24) = 575 / 1

Since you are dividing 24 by 1/24, treat them like fractions:

    24 / (1/24) = 24/1 divided by (1/24)

                = 24/1 * 24/1       (to divide, mult by reciprocal)

                = 576/1

Your instincts were correct!
