Question
a college football pennant is in the shape of an isosceles traingle. The base is 20 long . the sides meet at an angle of 35 degrees. how long are the sides?

Answer
if the sides meet at 35, then the other 2 angles can be found like this.

35 + 2x = 180
2x = 145
x = 72°30'

now just use

20/sin(35) = y/sin(72°30)

y = 20sin(72°30)/sin(35°)
y = 33.2551 or about 33

so the other 2 sides are about 33 long
