This explanation is very good, but it shifts the timing over so that, to use the formula, one first has to add 1 minute to their time. This happens when the answerer adds in 797 as the new 0-minute population size. To find the formula that correctly reflects the number of minutes passed, that step is unnecessary, as all it succeeds in doing is the time shift. The proper formula is -2*x^3 - 2*x^2 + 3x + 800

I can answer questions in basic to advanced algebra (theory of equations, complex numbers), precalculus (functions, graphs, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions and identities), basic probability, and finite mathematics, including mathematical induction. I can also try (but not guarantee) to answer questions on Abstract Algebra -- groups, rings, etc. and Analysis -- sequences, limits, continuity. I won't understand specialized engineering or business jargon.

I taught at a two-year college for 25 years, including all subjects from algebra to third-semester calculus.
