Question
You are the cleverest person I don't know so riddle me this if you will...

How can i make 5, 6, 6, 6 equal the number 4 by only doing an equation that uses these same four numbers....???

I am sure this will be simple for you as I have been working on it for weeks.

Answer
Hello Evangeline,

For this problem, you just have to think about ways to make four. Now the first thing I thought of was 5-1 = 4

So how do you make a one with 3 sixes. Well 6-6 = 0 and 6^0 = 1

So The answer is 5 - 6^(6-6) = 4.

I hope this helped,

Feel free to ask,

Experience

I have studied advanced math my entire life. I started calculus in sixth grade. I have attended numerous math competitions and I am attending math organizations such as the San-Diego math circle. Also, this year I have been invited to the USAMO which is a prestigious math competition (Every year the USAMO invites 500 students from across the USA to participate in this competition. The top 6 go to represent the USA in the International Math Olympiad).
