Question
what equation could i get if i have a sequence of o, 5/2, 8/3, 17/4, 24/5?

Answer
when you think of it like this

0 = 1^2 - 1
5 = 2^2 + 1
8 = 3^2 - 1
17 = 4^2 + 1
24 = 5^2 - 1

this only works if you wrote it like this

(n^2 + (-1)^n)/n or n + ((-1)^n)/n)

So that would have to be your answer.

whereas "n" starts out with 1, then 2, then 3, etc... as you probably already know.
