(x+2x)^2 = 8(y-3)i need the directrix vertex and focus and y+12x-2x^2 = 16
i already answered the first one.
y + 12x - 2x^2 = 16
y = 2x^2 - 12x + 16
y = (2x^2 - 12x) + 16
y = 2(x^2 - 6x) + 16
y = 2(x^2 - 6x + 9 - 9) + 16
y = 2(x^2 - 6x + 9) - 18 + 16
y = 2(x - 3)^2 - 2
y + 2 = 2(x - 3)^2
(x - 3)^2 = (1/2)(y + 2)
(1/2) = 4p
p = (1/8)
directrix : y = -2 - (1/8), y = (-17/8)
Focus : (3,(-2 + (1/8))), (3,(-15/8))
Vertex : (3,-2)
Directrix : y = (-17/8)
Focus : (3,(-15/8))
