Question
Solving this right triangle?
Solve the right triangle (to the nearest tenth) given B=15degrees, and b=30m. B is not the hypotenuse.

Answer
since you know this is a right triangle, and you are already given angle B.

90 - 15 = 75

30/sin(15) = a/sin(75)

a = 30sin(75)/sin(15)
a = 112.0

30/sin(15) = c/sin(90)
c = 30/sin(15)
c = 115.9m

so

a = 112.0m
A = 75
c = 115.9m

you could have also done it like this

sin(15) = 30/h
h = 30/sin(15)

a^2 + 30^2 = (30/sin(15))^2
a^2 = (30/sin(15))^2 - 30^2
a = 112.0
