Question
I wanted to know if there is a mathematical system for figuring out the best pick 3 depending on past results.  I've seen a sort of rhythm with lottery and believe in numerology as well.  But on websites such as "lottery post" they've mentioned in some forums the ability to calculate using algorithm or something, can you help?

Yes, I can help.

1. Past results are irrelevant unless the organizers guarantee that no number will be picked twice in the same year.  Did they promise that?

2. Numerology is voodoo.  Have fun with it, if you like, but if you use it to make your bets, it's as good as any other 'system' for picking winners -- i.e. worthless.

3. Considering the 'tax' on the amount bet, you are much better off keeping your money.

4. But I did get an idea from someone whose intelligence and gambling skills I respected:

 A. Find out what numbers people hate to bet.  (I don't know why, but people are superstitious, as your statement proves.)
 B. Bet those numbers.

Will you increase your chance of winning?  No. But you will decrease your chance of having to share the top prize with others.  (Naturally, I shall expect you to share it with me instead.)

Expertise

I can answer questions in basic to advanced algebra (theory of equations, complex numbers), precalculus (functions, graphs, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions and identities), basic probability, and finite mathematics, including mathematical induction. I can also try (but not guarantee) to answer questions on Abstract Algebra -- groups, rings, etc. and Analysis -- sequences, limits, continuity. I won't understand specialized engineering or business jargon.

Experience

I taught at a two-year college for 25 years, including all subjects from algebra to third-semester calculus.
