Question
I need help finding the factors and x intercepts of this equation:

x3-1320x2+398351x

I am tutoring someone and this one stumped me.

Answer
Hi, there is one very visible factor: x since x(x^2-1320x+39835)is equivalent to what you began with. So x = 0 is one of the three solutions. For the quadratic I would use the quadratic formula. [1320+-sqrt((-1320)^2-4(1)(39835))]/2(1) that is, using [-b+-sqrt(b^2-4ac)]/2a. Just  because the numbers are large shouldn't keep you from working out the answer. By the way, what is under the square root is a perfect square, so keep trying! Let me know if you still can't find the solutions.
