HI Sherman,
Can you help me with this question?  
If you rolled up an 8 1/2 by 11" sheet of paper into the largest possible cylinder 8 1/2 in high, what would be the diameter of the cylinder?

if its 8.5 high that only leaves 11

C = pi d

11 = pi * d

d = 11/pi

d = about 3.5 inches in diameter

this as assuming your not rolling it over and over until you reach the end of it, because results may vary.

but if your talking about connecting the ends to form a cylinder then that would be your answer.
