Question
Please help me!
1. -x+6y=11
   x-2y=1

2. x+3y=6
  2x+y=-8

Thanks!

Answer
1.)
-x + 6y = 11
x - 2y = 1

the x's cancel out

4y = 12
y = 3

x - 2(3) = 1
x = 7

ANS : (7,3)

-----------------------------------

2.)
x + 3y = 6
2x + y = -8

multiply top by -2

-2x - 6y = -12
2x + y = -8

-5y = -20
y = 4

x + 3(4) = 6
x = -6

ANS : (-6,4)
