The usual way to handle probability questions is to rephrase them. As in:

A coin is tossed.

What is the probability that the first three tosses are all tails?

Does that do it?

QUESTION: Actually I am a bit weak in probability...if you can explain it by solving that will be a great help...thnx in advance..

IF you toss three times, you must get tails all three times.  Then apply:

1. The probability that a fair coin comes up tails.

2. The multiplication principle:  If multiple events have probabilities p1, p2, ...
then the probability of all occurring is their product.

Note: This is not a do-your-homework-for-you site.  Nor is it a teach-you-the-subject site -- for that you want a teacher.

However, for checking purposes, your answer should be  1/8.

Expertise

I can answer questions in basic to advanced algebra (theory of equations, complex numbers), precalculus (functions, graphs, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions and identities), basic probability, and finite mathematics, including mathematical induction. I can also try (but not guarantee) to answer questions on Abstract Algebra -- groups, rings, etc. and Analysis -- sequences, limits, continuity. I won't understand specialized engineering or business jargon.

Experience

I taught at a two-year college for 25 years, including all subjects from algebra to third-semester calculus.
