Question
solve for x. t/y=x/w & R/x = F/T

Answer
Joel~

For the first one, t/y = x/w ask yourself where is x and how can I get x by itself? Then decide what is attached to the x and by what operation and do the inverse operation to remove the thing that is attached to x. For example: I see that x is being divided by w so multiply both sides of the proportion by w (since multiplication is the inverse operation to division) and you will miraculously have x by itself.

For the 2nd problem we have R/x = F/T and we see that x is in the denominator. There is a trick to make this easier and that is if two fractions are equal then their reciprocals are equal also, so that means that x/R = T/F and now solve this one the same way as the first by getting the R off the x.
