Question
Show that F_n+3 + F_n =2F_n+2 and

F_n+3 - F_n =2F_n+1

Could you please explain to me of how to do the addition and substraction?

Thank you

Answer
ancy~
F_n+3+F_n = (F_n+2 + F_n+1) + F_n    since F_n+3 = F_n+2 + F_n+1
= [(F_n+1+F_n)+F_n+1]+ F_n               since F_n+1+F_n = F_n+2
= 2(F_n+1 + F_n)

F_n+3-F_n = (F_n+2 + F_n+1) -F_n     since F_n+3 = F_n+2 + F_n+1
= [(F_n+1+F_n)+F_n+1]- F_n              since F_n+1+F_n = F_n+2
= 2F_n+1
