Question
The coaches anger increased exponentially. Only 20 min after practice began, the coach was twice as angry as when the practice began. How many times more angry will the coach be at the end of the three hr practice?

Answer
If he gets twice as angry every 20 minutes, after forty that would be 2x2=4 times as angry.
After another twenty minutes, that would be twice as angry again, so 2x4=8.

So every hour, he gets 8 times as angry.  So for three hours, that would be 8x8x8.
Now 8x8 = 64, and 8x64=512, so at the end of the practice he is 512 times as angry.


That could also be done by noting that three hours has 3 sets of 20 minutes per hour,
so that is 9 times he gets twice as angry.  The number found by 2^9 is also 512.
It goes 2 (20 min), 4 (40 min), 8 (1 hr), 16 (1 hr 20 min), 32 (1 hr 40 min), 64 (2 hr),
128 (2 hr 20 min), 256 (2 hr 40 min), and finally, 512 (at 3 hour).

I tutored at Mathnasium for well over a year. I worked at The Boeing Company for over 5 years. I received an MS degreee in Mathematics from Oregon State Univeristy. The classes I took were over 100 hours of upper division credits in mathematical courses such as calculus, statistics, probabilty, linear algrebra, powers, linear regression, matrices, and more. I graduated with honors in both my BS and MS degrees. Publications
My master's paper was published in the OSU journal. The subject of it was Numerical Analysis used in shock waves and rarefaction fans. It dealt with discontinuities that arose over time. They were solved using the Leap Frog method. That method was used and improvements of it were shown. The improvements were by Enquist-Osher, Godunov, and Lax-Wendroff.

Education/Credentials
Master of Science at OSU with high honors in mathematics. Bachelor of Science at OSU with high honors in mathematical sciences. This degree involved mathematics, statistics, and computer science. I also took sophmore level physics and chemistry while I was attending college. On the side I took raquetball, but that's still not relevant.

Awards and Honors
I earned high honors in both my BS degree and MS degree from Oregon State. I was in near the top in most of my classes. In several classes in mathematics, I was first. In a class of over 100 students, I was always one of the first ones to complete the test. I graduated with well over 50 credits in upper division mathematics.
