Question
a) flip a coin three time then write the sample space.

Answer
Hi Crystal,
Let's designate heads and tails as H and T respectively. The sample space is then;
HHT, HTH, HTT, HHH, THT, TTH, TTT, THH
where, as an example, HHT means that the first two tosses results in heads and the last results in a tail.
Also to add, a coin has 2 possible outcomes in one toss. In n tosses, there are 2^n events in the sample space. In our example, number of events is
2^3 = 8
as we have seen.
