Question
Hi-
I'm getting ready to run my first half marathon and there is a 125 ft climb over 1/2 mile.  How do I find the incline?

Answer
Sara~
You will first need to change 1/2 mile into feet. There are 5280 feet in 1 mile so there is half of that in 1/2 mile or 2640 ft. Now you need to examine the ratio of how high you are climbing over the distance you are traveling which means you will look at the ratio of
125/2640 which when reduced is 25/528 This is most commonly known as the slope or the grade or the pitch but in our case probably the grade.
