Question
simplify: i times the square root of -98 minus the square root of 98

Write the fraction as a terminating or repeating decimal:
13/7

Answer
Suzy~

First things first:
sqrt(-98) = i*sqrt(98) so we really have i^2*sqrt(98) - sqrt(98)
= -1*sqrt(2*49)-sqrt(2*49)
=-1*7*sqrt(2)-7*sqrt(2)
=-14*sqrt(2)

              __1.857142
13/7 = 7|13.00000
            -7
            ___
             60
            -56
            ____
             40
            -35
            ____
             50
            -49
            ____
             10
             -7
            ____
             30
            -28
            ____
             20
            -14
            ____
             6

and here it begins to repeat itself so the answer is: 1.857142 with a bar over the .857142 part
