Question
Hello:
I want to divide 1 foot by 6 inches, but I want the answer to be in feet not inches.
What is the calculation for determining the answer, which I think is 1/6 foot?

I can tell you that 1 foot = 12 inches
Are you dividing 1 foot by 6 or by '6 inches'?
If you're dividing by 6 then its simply 1/6 foot which is the same as
1/6 x 12 inches = 2 inches
You cant divide a foot by a unit in inches and still have an answer in either foot or inches so i dont quite get your question. Anyway, i think you have the answer already.
