Question
how do you solve this problem i don't get how you do it?!
8x+10=2x-8

Answer
Hailey~

8x + 10 = 2x - 8
first you want to gather your terms with x on one side so lets -2x from both sides
6x + 10 = -8  now you want x by itself so lets subtract 10 from both sides
6x = -18 now we want c by itself so we divide by 6 on both sides so that we get
x = -3
You can check x = -3 in the original equation to see if it is indeed a solution:
8(-3) + 10 ?= 2(-3) - 8
-24 + 10 ?= -6 - 8
-14 ?= -14   yes!!
