Question
Please prove the following (1-cosA)(1+secA)= sinAtanA

Answer
Hi Tom,
(1 - cosA)(1 + secA) = 1 + secA - cosA - cosA.secA
= 1 + (1/cosA) - cosA - cosA(1/cosA)
= 1 + (1/cosA) - cosA - 1
= (1/cosA) - cosA
= (1 - cosČA)/cosA
But remember the identity; cosČA + sinČA = 1
So, 1 - cosČA = sinČA
And
(1 - cosČA)/cosA = sinČA/cosA
= sinA.(sinA/cosA)
= sinA.tanA
