Calculate distance to target.

d is the distance to the target

d feet × second/2500 feet = d/2500 seconds
The bullet hits the target in d/2500 seconds.

d feet × second/1100 feet = d/1100 seconds
The sound is heard d/1100 seconds after the bullet strikes the target.

d/2500 + d/1100 = 2
d/25 + d/11 = 200
11d/(25×11) + 25d/(25×11) = 200
36d = 200×25×11
d = 200×25×11/36 ≅ 1528 feet
