Can we use Factorials for various computations viz Addition, Subtraction,Multiplication,Division and indices.

Addition = 3! + 2!

Subtraction = 3! - 2!

Multiplication = 3! * 2!

Division = 3! / 2!

Exponential / Indices = 3! raised to a power of 2!

Other than the above computations, can we use Factorials in Matrices, Determinants, logarithms, Antilogarithms, Coordinate Geometry etc.

Matrices = 2*2 matrix = 3!,2!,5!,6!

Determinants = 3!,2!,5!,6!

Logarithms = log(10!), log(20!) etc

Antilogarithms = Antilog(1!) etc

Coordinate geometry = plot this points in the Graph paper viz

A(3!,2!), B(4!,-5!),C(-7!,-8!),D(6!,-3!) etc

Trigonometry = Sin(5!), Cos(4!), Tan(2!), Sec(3!), Cosec(6!), Cot(7!) etc

Yes, you can do anything you want with a factorial.

All you have to do is to be able to compute what the factorial is.

Now when I was in college, computers freaked out at 10! and couldn't do it.

Nowadays, lets see how far Excel will take it ...

1! = 1,

2! = 2*1! = 2,

3! = 3*2! = 6,

4! = 4*3! = 24,

5! = 5*4! = 120,

6! = 6*5! = 720,

7! = 7*6! = 5,040,

8! = 8*7! = 40,320,

9! = 9*8! = 362,880,

10! = 10*9! = 3,628,800,

11! = 11*10! = 39,916,800,

12! = 12*11! = 479,001,600,

13! = 13*12! = 6,227,020,800,

14! = 14*13! = 87,178,291,200,

15! = 15*14! = 1,307,674,368,000,

16! = 16*15! = 20,922,789,888,000,

17! = 17*16! = 355,687,428,096,000,

18! = 218*17! = 6,402,373,705,728,000,

19! = 19*18! = 121,645,100,408,832,000,

20! = 20*19! = 2,432,902,008,176,640,000,

21! = 21*20! = 51,090,942,171,709,400,000,

I believe these are correct, but at 22 it loses accuracy since it ends with 610,000

and I know it should be 800,000.

I haven't seen 13! through 21! before, but I think Excel did them OK.

Anyway, once the calculation has been done, it can be put into any function,

though computing trig functions on factorials ... I fail to see where this would arise.

This degree involved mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
I also took sophmore level physics and chemistry while I was attending college.

I earned high honors in both my BS degree and MS degree from Oregon State.
I was in near the top in most of my classes. In several classes in mathematics, I was first.
In a class of over 100 students, I was always one of the first ones to complete the test.
I graduated with well over 50 credits in upper division mathematics.
