Question: Show that log of base 2 (72) = m + 2log of base 2 (3).

Answer
Hi Jordan,
We know that log(2) A + log(2) B = log(2) [AB]
and log(2) [A^n] = n log(2) A
So,
log(2) 72 = log(2) [8 x 9]
= log(2) [2 x 3]
= log(2) 2 + log(2) 3
= 3 log(2) 2 + 2 log(2) 3
= 3 + 2 log(2) 3          (since log(2) 2 = 1)
