Hello:

Is it proper arithmetic to list the multiples of a fraction instead of a whole number? For example, list the multiples of 2: 2,4,6, etc. Is it correct to list the multiples of 1/2 or another fraction?

List the multiples of 1/2: 1/2, 2/2 3/2, 4/2, etc.

I thank you for your reply.

Hi Kenneth,

There is nothing wrong with listing the multiples of a fraction in this way, especially if that is what you're trying to show. Writing in whole numbers is neater though, and I'm sure no one would have any problems seeing what you're trying to show.

Regards
