Question
Determine whether the function f(x)=-x^2+4x has a mimimum or maximum value.

Answer
f(x) = -x^2 + 4x

if x^2 is negative, then you have a maximum value, and here is how you can find it out

ax^2 + bx + c

x = -b/(2a)

x = -(4)/(2(-1))
x = -4/-2
x = 2

f(2) = -(2)^2 + 4(2)
f(2) = -4 + 8
f(2) = 4

The maximum value is (2,4)
