Question
What is the Laplace transform of the natural log function. I missed class, and can't seem to find the answer. Do I approach it from the definition of Laplace with integration by parts or something. Help with this will be appreciated.

Answer
Hi,
Sorry for the delay.
Why don't you try integrating it by parts? I am sure it wouldn't work but its good you see for yourself.
At this point I don't think there is a Laplace transformation for either the function 1/x or ln x for some reasons.
But for your sake I would try to check out a perhaps more advanced way of going about it and would surely get back to you when i do.
If you, however, find a solution please let me know.
Good luck.
